Acknowledgements
As an American-born white woman, I acknowledge that this practice is not from my culture. The Reiki I was taught comes from Japan, and originated with Mikao Usui. It was then passed down to Dr. Hayashi and disseminated to the U.S. by his student, Madame Takata. It was a belief of Usui's that Reiki could heal the world, and he desired for it to be as widely available as possible. It is a privilege and honour to be able to practice this sacred healing method, and I do so with deep reverence and gratitude.
I also acknowledge that the land I practice on rightly belongs to the indigenous peoples of Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla, as well as other tribes and bands. I seek to give back in any way I can to indigenous communities, and humbly offer a 25% discount to BIPOC with code HEAL for all of my services.
